Ghajini can solve a particular assignment containing math problems working alone in 6 hours work whereas Rajni can solve the same assignment in 8 hours. If they solve together, they can discuss the problems and this helps to enhance their efficiency in solving problems . So, their combined problem solving rates is the sum of their individual rates plus 2 additional problems per hour. Working together, they complete the same problem assignment in 3 hours. How many problems are on the assignment?
Let the number of problems on the assignment = x
Number of problems solved by Ghajini in 1 hour = x/6
Number of problems solved by Rajni in 1 hour = x/8
When the work together they are able to solve 2 more problems
Number of problems solved by them in 3 hours would be equal to x
3 { x/6 + x/8 + 2} = x
Thus, x = 48
