Indian Institute of Management Calcutta

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) was established as the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management by the Government of India in November 1961 in collaboration with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the government of West Bengal, the Ford Foundation and Indian industry. IIM Calcutta has one of the most breath-takingly beautiful academic campuses in the country – spotted with scenic locales, five lakes, exotic birds, and a miniature Howrah Bridge. The campus is also reputed to be among the prettiest institute campuses in India. The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation to help professionalise the country’s foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analysing and disseminating data; and conducting research.
