Eligibility Criteria and student intake (PGP): 

The candidate must hold, subject to the condition laid down below,

1. A Master’s Degree in any discipline, with at least 55 percent marks, with the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification with atleast 50 percent marks obtained after a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent (OR)
2. Five year/four year Integrated Masters Degree programme in any discipline, with atleast 55 percent marks, obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. (OR)
3. A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 55 percent marks. (OR)
4. A 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent grade point average.

Short listing criteria for Personal Interviews:

The selection criteria for an IIM are divided into two stages. Stage 1- CAT, Stage 2- PI & AWT

First stage is short listing of candidates on the basis of their CAT percentiles cut offs (sectional as well as overall), previous academic record and past experience. Candidates with the minimum sectional and overall cut offs with a more than zero score in all sections are considered for further stages.

Criteria for Final Admission Merit List

All shortlisted candidates from the preliminary stage are called for the AWT (Academic Written Test) and Personal Interviews. The final merit list is then prepared basis composite scores of each candidate. Performance at each stage of the round along with particular weight-age to the past academic records, work experience, co-curricular activities and diversity factors form the composite scores.

Expenses:

The fee for its flagship two-year postgraduate programme in management (PGPM) is INR 19.5 lakhs. Laptop computer, personal expenses on boarding, travel, clothes and laundry are extra.

Final Placements

The placements at IIM A are generally conducted in two stages. The first stage is the Lateral process where firms interviews students with prior work experience and offer them mid-level managerial positions. The second stage stage is the final placement process where firms are grouped into cohorts based on the profile offered and groups of cohort are invited across different clusters.

IIM Ahmedabad also encourages students to take up entrepreneurship to start their own ventures under the guidance and mentorship of Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship.
