You have 5 boxes of muffins. Each muffin weighs 100 grams, except for hollow muffins contained in one box, where each muffin weighs 90 grams. Given a scale, how could you tell which box has hollow muffins in just one measurement?
Solution Take out 1 from box 1, two from box 2, three from box 3, four from box 4, five from box 5. Total 15 muffins should weight 1500 gms. If the weight is 1490 gms then box 1 has hollow muffings If the weight is 1480 gms then box 2 has hollow muffins If the weight is 1470 gms then box 3 and so on. .
