Quant Question Of The Day: 208
A delivery consists 88 trucks, each is filled with 45 carton and each carton has 55 bottles. Now Delivery is reduced in number of trucks such that now each truck has 55 cartons and each carton has 66 bottles. Find the approximate % reduction in number of trucks
Sol Initial capacity of a truck = 45*55, (number of trucks is inversely proportional to capacity; ie when capacity increases number of trucks decreases) New capacity = 55*66 increase in capacity = 55*65 – 45*55 = 21*55 This can be treated as reduction of number of trucks from 66 to 45. hence % reduction = 21/66*100 = 32%
